What's in it for me to join?
It is an incredible way to give back to our program, without writing a check. Reconnect with teammates and parents of teammates that you have fallen out of touch with. Feel good about sharing your journey and professional expertise to help the current athletes and young alums navigate theirs. It will be fun!
If I'm "just a Parent" right now or I'm not currently working, should I still join?
First - Yes!! Secondly - Being a Parent is a REAL job and your story and support of this community is going to be essential to its success, so please join. We want EVERYONE in because everyone has a story to tell that will help our players and young alums navigate their story. Our Career Community will support RCVB alums who left their careers to raise families, providing resources to help them re-enter the workforce if they would like to do so. It will also serve as a valuable resource for RCVB Community members who are considering stepping away from careers, offering guidance from those who have previously navigated this transition.
What/Who is Upstream Solutions?
Upstream Solutions is a company that supports College Coaches and College Athletic Departments in many ways Executive Coaching Facilitation Training Online Career Communities Michelyne Pinard, the Founder, is the former Women's Soccer Coach at Williams. I know her very well and she is aligned with our vision of how powerful a healthy sport community can be in empowering both individuals and collectives. What role is Upstream Solutions/Michelyne going to play in our Career Community? Think of them/her as an RCVB Assistant Coach that is focused on player, parent and alumnae engagement and career networking support. I've always wanted to do more in the realm of supporting our student-athletes and young alums in their career navigation. I, nor my staff, have the technical expertise or bandwidth to do it at the level that this career community can do it. What else is included in having a Career Community? In addition to The RCVB Branded Career Community Platform and our very own Community Coach, we will also get: Our very own mobile app An annual networking event
